No More Running Head: Big Changes to APA Style
Great news! The dreaded running head is no longer required for student papers (unless the instructor specifically requires it). Also, "Retrieved from" is largely a thing of the past. There are many significant changes in the new 7th Edition APA Publication Manual.
Even better news: you don't need to comb through the manual to learn about the new guidelines. In the Learning Center, we have compiled a list of the most relevant changes for students. You can find it on our website under "Writing Resources" HERE. During this transitional period, be sure to ask your instructors whether they want papers in 6th or 7th edition style. In the meantime, we are working on changing our APA resources to fit the new guidelines.
We will keep you posted as they become available.

Chat With a Writing Tutor
Do you have a quick question about the paper you are writing but no time to visit the Learning Center? No problem! We now offer a Chat Feature that allows students to work with us from wherever they are. On our web page, just click the green Chat With a Writing Tutor button, and a specialist or tutor will respond right away.
Our chat service is available Monday-Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. & Fridays from 7:15 to 1:45

Online Tutoring
In addition to the Online Writing Center and our new Chat service, we also offer Zoom Conferencing Sessions. To set up an online appointment, simply email [email protected] with the date and time you would like to meet during our normal hours of operation.
An English specialist will contact you and confirm your appointment via email. Then, shortly before your appointment, you will receive a Zoom conference link via email. Click the link, and you will join a conference with your tutor (you may need to connect to the Zoom platform the first time, which only takes a few seconds). In the Zoom conference, you can share a whiteboard or a document. You can also speak face-to-face.
