The Testing Center at the Union campus recently became NCTA certified, which sounds really cool, but what does it mean for you as students? We're so glad you asked!
If you're a returning student, you already know that we ask you to lock up all of your belongings, and if you're not, well now you do! It seems harsh but it's for everyone's benefit. For instance, what if you were wearing a Fitbit and an alarm went off in the middle of a full testing room? It would be a big distraction, right? And not only for you but for all of your fellow students around you too. And I mean, we couldn't even imagine how embarrassing it might feel if that happened! But maybe things like that don't bother you, which is totally understandable. Some people are really good at blocking out distractions, but maybe you are concerned about the security of your completed exam. In both instances, NCTA certification can ease your concerns. You can rest assured that both scenarios are accounted for in our policies and procedures, plus many more. This is one of the reasons why we have so many seemingly over-the-top rules: because we're held to high standards by the industry and other third party testing entities who entrust us with their exam content. If you'd like to learn about NCTA, here's their website. |
